Aug. 19 to September 1:
At the Forum Art Gallery, 57, 5th Street, Padmanabha Nagar, Adyar.
Exhibition showcasing the work of 35 artists, both emerging and established, three photographers and two cartoonists, all living and practising in Chennai. Open to all.

Aug. 15: 
At Roja Muthiah Research Library, Taramani
Exhibition of early publications, periodicals and magazines of the city, in association with The Hindu. N. Murali, Managing Director of The Hindu and A. R. Venkatachalapathy of MIDS will speak at 5 pm.

Aug. 19 to 25: 
At Gallery Sri Parvati, Eldams Road, Teynampet.
Rod Hudson, a British-born numismatist and still photographer, will exhibit his photographs of Madras at Gallery Sri Parvati, Eldams Road, Alwarpet ( close to Music World music store).
Gita, a Chennai painter, will supplement this with her work that combines abstraction with culturally evocative suggestions of the female form, musical instruments, or both. Timings: 11 am to 7 pm.

Aug 20 to 24 :
Larsen and Tubro Heritage Museum for School Visits
The Larsen and Toubro Heritage Museum in Manapakkam will be open to schoolchildren to visit. From 9.30 am to 4 pm. For details contact 99401 98135

The C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, Eldams Road, Teynampet.
Exhibition of photos and prints of parts of old Madras; re-publication of Early History of the Madras Region (originally published in 1959) by Dr. K. V. Raman, archaeologist and retired Head of the Department of Ancient History and Archaeology, University of Madras
The book contains literary and inscriptional evidence about the various dynasties that ruled this region, as well as information about pre-historic findings. It will be a boon to research students and serious scholars of Madras’s history.

Aug 20 to 22 : ‘Madras Remembered’
Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School, Greams Road, Chennai - 6
The exhibition will trace the topography, clothes, food habits and lifestyle from the old to the new. There will be a power point presentation and a walk down Anderson Road. The exhibition will be open to schoolchildren from neighbouring schools.

Exhibition of old Madras Photos, rarebooks and maps of the city. Organised by D. H. Rao and S. B. Raja Seetharaman. From 10 am to 5 pm. Free admission.
