'Medraasil Mirudhu' are three Tamil books in a series which is a translation by Prema Srinivasan and Vasantha Surya from Vasantha's English 'Mridu in Madras'. It's about a girl growing up with her grandparents in Madras, about an extended family and sundry Madras characters. The set costs Rs.240. Published by Kalachuvadu.

IAA meet at Hotel Taj Coromandel. 6 p.m. Mayor of Chennai, M. Subramanian presides. Release of booklet ' American Women: Madras Connections.' written by Dr Prema Kasturi, Dr. Vinita Ramaswamy. Talk on ' Scudder Family in Madras' by Dr. Mathan. Open to invitees only.
