History of the Madras Museum – Neighbours Envy, Owners Pride – Inclusive Walk – August 20, 2017

The tremendous response from locals on seeing a Cheetah and a Tiger in the Museum grounds, part of an experiment to increase visitor traffic, led to the Museum setting up a Zoological garden with over 300 animals on its premises. This was one of many experiments to be conducted at the Museum. This walk will look at the fascinating history of the Madras Museum and why its collections truly are our city’s pride.
