1. Chepauk Cricket Ground - 1891
In the foreground in is the famed long bar in the pavillion of the Madras Cricket Club. In 1865 the club moved from the Island grounds Chepauk. This bar was in use till 1990 before being replaced with a brand new bar. Watching cricket was never the same again.

The Govt. PWD building was part of the Chepauk palace. On the right is the senate house. The sea used to extend up to the road those days.


6. Pycrofts Road - Madras 1890

The towers seen in the photograph are the entrance to 'Amir Mahal'. This was the home of the Nawab of the Carnatic. Amir Mahal was built in 1798.
