My Big Idea – Last date to submit entry : Aug. 30, 2013

Last date extended till Aug. 30, 2013

As we celebrate the founding of this city, it is also time to take a close look at Chennai as it is today. And many issues stare at us. Now, do you have a great idea that you feel can make a change in our city? Here is a stage to present it!

Your idea could be small or big. For the city or for your area. It must be focussed on only ONE issue. May be garbage. Or parks or traffic management. Or pavements. On heritage landmarks. Or the city as a tourist destination. Or on trees. Or on ridding ad boards from trees. Or saving rainwater.

Choose just ONE idea. And prepare a 5-minute Power Point presentation rich in visuals and points.

(Not more than 12 slides and not larger than 2 MB in size outlining the problem that your idea will help solve, the idea itself in detail and additional inputs like costs involved. )

If your case is compelling and strong, we will invite you to a public presentation. 15 ‘ideas’ people will be called.

A few senior executives of companies handling CSR initiatives, NGO heads and a state govt. rep will be invited to listen to you. Who knows, your idea may be picked up to roll out as a project too.

Dr Sumanth C Raman will moderate the presentations.

This is not a contest. It is a platform for positive people of our city. The chosen 15 will receive certificates and a Chennai T-shirt. And the ideas will be made public too!

HOW TO REGISTER; Write out a 5-line note on your Big Idea for Chennai and e-mail it ( Subject line – Big Chennai Idea) to us – themadrasday@gmail.com. Mention your full name, what you do professionally and your short address and phone nos. Open to all above 18 years. No regn. fee.

The selected will be intimated  by Aug.29.

DATE OF PRESENTATION; Sept. 1, 2 pm to 5pm.

VENUE; Arkay Convention Centre, Royapettah High Rd., Luz. ( Opp. Vivek’s store; next to Bombay Halwa House; 2nd floor of bldg.)

This event will also feature presentations from those who have already started to work on innovative ideas and who are making an impact with their projects.
