My grandfather, late Rao Bahadur Soora Lutchmiah Chetty was one of the few Indians who were associated with the British East India Company in the 19th century and went on to be appointed the Sole Contractor for the erstwhile South Indian Railways. Madras has a lot of fond memories for our family. Mine is the fifth generation in Madras. Pity the name was changed. The house built by my grandfather in 1916 still stands in Kilpauk.

Chennai@Madras photographs are delightful to say the least. In this connection the new film entitled MAdrasa patnam seemed to have been a hit.The famed historian Sri S.Muthiah is running a fortnightly in English called ‘Madras Musings ‘ Which cares for Madras@Chennai
Mr.Vincent desouza a vibrant journalist and editor of Mylapore and Adyar Times has been very active in observing ‘Madras Day’ every year in the month of August. We can ALL now strengthen his hands to keep the pleasant musings of Madras.Kudos to Raghu for photos!
