As a part of International Museum Day celebrations, we are organising a walk with an emphasis on the history of the development and curation of the Tamil Nadu Police Museum. Join us as we explore the museum’s captivating exhibits, which provide a fascinating look into the development and history of local law enforcement. Visitors can explore a variety of exhibits, including weapons, uniforms, and archival records, which range from historical policing procedures to contemporary crime-solving strategies.
This museum is curated in a way where you get the live experience of imagining yourself as a Commissioner of Police in the COP office as well as lock yourself inside a prison! The Indo-Saracenic building that stands tall as the Police Museum today was once the building of the city Police Commissionerate. This heritage structure has undergone several changes in the late 1800s and 1900s. The police museum today stands as a testimony to the valour of the men in uniform.
The walk will be led by Sruthi Ram, who has had the honour of co-curating the Tamil Nadu Police Museum and collaborating with heritage enthusiasts.
