Dept. of History and Tourism hosts a few contests for School/ College Students
School Quiz –
Rules (9:00 am – 10:00 am) – Room: SS 4-16 (Sancta Sofia Block)
– Students from classes 7 th to 11 th are eligible (From Schools)
– 3 teams per institution ( 2 students per team)
– Topics: Madras History, Art and Culture, Sports
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 1000/-) certificates will be given to all participants
For Schools – Creative Writing (9:00 am to (10:00 am) – Room: SS 4-13
– Topic : (on the spot)
– 4 participants per institution (2 -Tamil and 2 – English)
– Bring your own stationery (Only Paper will be given)
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 500/-) and certificates will be given
For Schools – Drawing/Painting (9:00 am – 10:00) – Room: SS 4-12
– Theme: Famous Buildings/Heritage sites of Chennai
– 4 participants per institution
– Kindly bring your own stationery
– Identity card of the student is mandator
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 500/-) and certificates will be given
For Colleges Only
College – Debate – (10:30 am – 11:30 am) – Room SS 4 – 16
– Theme: ‘Chennai: A Good City to Live In’
– Two teams per institution ( 2 students per team)
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 1000/-) and certificates will be given
For Colleges / Poster Making (10:45 am – 11:45 am) – Room SS 4-15
– Theme: Vintage Madras
– 4 participants per institution (2 -Tamil and 2 – English)
– Bring your own stationery
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 500/-) and certificates will be given
For Colleges/ Digital Trails of Madras (11:45 am – 12:45 pm) -Room SS 4-12
– Theme: Food, Heritage, Adventure, Unexplored places of Tamil Nadu
– 4 participants per institution
– Cash Prize (1st prize only – 500/-) and certificates will be given
