K  R  M Public school (the unit of Kaligi Ranganathan Montford group) is celebrating Madras week by organising 2 days Madharas Diwas exposition on 22nd and 23rd of August 2012 in their school premises by students.  Students from I grade to VI grade are participating with their displays to highlight the development of madras in various stages as pre colonial, colonial, post colonial and contemporary periods.  It is open to school students and the timings are 10am to 3 pm.   Ph: 9940469900

SOS Children’s Villages of India-Chatnath Homes in Tambaram will organise the following programs in co-ordination with schools in the area.

1. Children (students) walk around M.C.C. Campus (of 365 acres, mostly comprising of jungles) to know the birds, fauna & flora and environment on  18th Aug 2012
2. We invite the participation of 10 schools in Tambaram vicinity to benefit from the lectures and also in quiz and drawing competitions on 16th and 17th, Aug 2012.
3. Trekking on Pallavaram hill on 19th Aug 2012.
4. Lecture on “culture and temples” –  Mr. Pradeep Chakravarthy (of Infosys Leadership Institute)
